Metamaterial Acoustic Dampers

We developed a metamaterial structure for acoustic mufflers, with improved acoustic performances and lighter design.

A novel acoustic metamaterial structure has been developed and patented by Creo, which can achieve much better performance at low and mid-frequencies with more compact and light structure than conventional designs. Such a structure could be used in several applications, like mufflers for intake and exhaust system in vehicles, silencers for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and acoustic liners for areoengines.
